Most of our students are using their phones and tablets not just for fun but also to do research. If you haven't started yet using them, here are some tips for you. Using Android devices in your instruction, will help you make your lessons more interesting and more attractive for your learners. Here are some apps to consider using in your teaching.
The tasks you and your students may use it vary from: taking notes; save, sharing documents; making and sharing videos; creating learning flashcards; recording interactive screencasts; learning a foreign language; designing a virtual space/classroom where you can connect and interact with students.
1. Google Keep
Quickly capture what’s on your mind and get a reminder later at the right place or time. Speak a voice memo on the go and have it automatically transcribed. Grab a photo of a poster, receipt or document and easily organize or find it later in search. Add notes, lists and photos to Google Keep. Record a voice memo and Keep will transcribe it so you can find it later.
2. Kahoot- Teachers may assign kahoots as homework!
Make homework awesome! Using the challenge feature, you can assign kahoots as homework that your students play in the app. Save time on correcting assignments, get an instant assessment of learning progress with challenge reports, and make homework fun and engaging for your students.
3. Duolingo- The best new way to learn a language.
Learning with Duolingo is fun and addictive. Each lesson includes a variety of speaking, listening, translation, and multiple choice challenges. Instantly your students may see which answers they get correct. Duolingo motivates them to stay on track by recording how many days in a row they spend learning a language.
4. Google Classroom
Google Classroom is a learning management system developed by Google for schools that aim to simplify creating, distributing and grading assignments in a paperless way. Google Classroom makes it easy for learners and instructors to connect—inside and outside of schools. It saves time and paper, and makes it easy to create classes, distribute assignments, communicate, and stay organized.
5. Explain Everything
Explain Everything is an interactive whiteboard app that allows users to create, collaborate, and share in an infinite collaborative space. Explain Everything is a freeform creation tool that innovates getting a message from your mind to the eyes and ears of audiences, all from a mobile device.
